Event Management Policy

In our ongoing efforts to offer the best possible event solutions, venuefinder MALTA has implemented an internal and external sustainability policy.

 

1. REDUCTION OF PLASTIC DISPOSABLES

Limit plastic disposables wherever possible. No plastic straws and no plastic bags on events.

2. REUSABLE, BRANDED WATER BOTTLES

Reusable, branded water bottles are offered to each client, using hotel or venue-based water dispensers.

3. WATER DISPENSERS

Venues and hotels are asked to offer water dispensers for guests.

4. ECO-FRIENDLY MATERIALS

Materials are considered at sourcing stage. Eco-friendly and new innovations are being sought out.

5. CONSCIOUS TRANSPORT OPTIONS

Use of public transport, shuttle buses, electric vehicles, park and ride initiatives, carpooling, cycling or walking is encouraged.

6. ECO-FRIENDLY MENU OPTIONS

These include a variety of local, vegan and vegetarian, dietary requirements, organic and pesticide-free.

7. DIGITAL MENUS

Printed menus used sparingly, electronic or group wide menus are prioritised.

8. ENERGIE EFFICIENCY

Energy-efficient / energy-reducing initiatives and event solutions are offered.

9. UNLEADED FUEL GENERATORS

Preferred suppliers have unleaded fuel generators and consider the reduction of energy consumption in their operations.

10. LED LIGHTING

Ensure all lighting on events is LED wherever possible.

11. ENVIRONMENTALLY FRIENDLY TRANSPORTATION

Utilise the most recent transport to reduce CO2 emissions and maximise client comfort.

12. GOING LOCAL

Priority is given to local suppliers, sourcing workers locally, buying local, using local providers

13. PROMOTING SUSTAINABILITY ONLINE

Proposals and website promote sustainable event solutions, to ensure that sustainability is an easy option to undertake.

14. SUSTAINABLE PROPOSAL

Every client proposal includes at least one sustainable event option or CSR activity

15. SUSTAINABILITY INITIATIVES

Clients are engaged with sustainability initiatives through proposals, pre-event communications and on-site signage.

16. GIFTING

Sustainable and CSR based gifts are offered to clients.

venuefinder Malta In-house Policy

1. REUSABLE BOTTLES

Bring your own company branded reusable flasks/mugs to the office! Drinking water is from reusable 20 litre dispensers.

2. THERMOS

Utilise the thermos in the kitchen for consistent hot water to avoid electricity and water wastage.

3. REDUCING WATER USE

Use the taps with consideration, undertake communal washing up.

4. USE THE RIGHT BIN

Separate used paper and plastics at every desk and non-recycling to be placed in the communal black bin.

5. ORGANIC BIN

There is a compost bin for organic material in the kitchen. Use only the authorised white compostable bin bags.

6. DOUBLE SIDED PRINTING

Reuse paper wherever possible, separate printers ensure reusable paper is used for inhouse documents. 2 screens are used to avoid printing of supplier offers.

7. BIODEGRADABLE CLEANING PRODUCTS

All soaps and cleaning products are biodegradable.

8. SWITCHED OFF

All PCs, office equipment and phone chargers to be switched off. Leaving items on standby causes wastage. New appliances are to be eco-friendly.

9. NATURAL DAYLIGHT

Use natural daylight wherever possible and ensure all lighting is switched off when not in use.

10. REDUCING KILOMETRES

Vehicle kilometres are reduced on site visits, with trip calculations taking eco impacts into account.

11. VEGETARIAN WEDNESDAY

Weekly ‘vegetarian Wednesday’ contributes to a reduction of climate impacts.

12. FOOD WASTE INITIATIVES

These include utilising Tupperware for leftovers in the fridge and sharing of communal items.

13. REDUCED PACKAGING

Packaging is reduced at source wherever possible. Visiting suppliers are asked not to bring disposables to serve lunches/snacks.

14. MUTUAL RESPECT

Employees hold the value of honest and respectful communication and negotiation with colleagues, suppliers and clients.

15. SUSTAINABILITY AMBASSADOR

The Sustainability Ambassador keeps up to date with new sustainable solutions with internal checks on initiatives to ensure all is on track.

16. CONSULTANCY

Accountability management is in place with a Sustainability Consultancy to ensure an annual assessment.
